The International Mountain Bicycling Association (IMBA) seeks a Database Administrator and Manager of Interactive Marketing to work as part of the management team at its Boulder, CO, offices. This position is housed in the Membership and Development Department, and reports to the Director of Development. Duties include managing and implementing IMBA's in-house database (currently File Maker Pro), constituent interactions and acquisition via its CRM application (currently powered by Convio). Online interactions will include grassroots advocacy/action alerts, e-newsletter subscriptions, membership renewals and acquisition, donations, event registration, e-commerce/online store, constituent profile/contact information and support of affiliate data management services.
This position requires skills and experience with relational database structure, data-driven online marketing and the ability to work with multiple internal customers. Effective leadership in this position will result in growing IMBA's constituency via online acquisition of new subscribers, advocates, members and donors. This position serves as IMBA's senior database administrator.
Responsibilities include:
- Manage and organize all constituent data to facilitate targeted marketing, communications and member services.
- Implement online membership, fundraising, marketing and interactive campaigns integrated with postal mail campaigns.
- Implement new approaches for online marketing strategies to recruit interested constituents, such as e-news subscribers.
- Write copy and create compelling content for online marketing initiatives.
- In collaboration with IMBA's Affiliate Program Manager, deploy online tools for affiliate membership, fundraising and event/program registration including data management services and support.
- Establish, analyze and exceed benchmark performance metrics for all online transactions.
- Work with IMBA's webmaster and communications team to organize and utilize imba.com content to achieve marketing and communications objectives.
- Implement business systems via integrated data management for all constituent transactions while optimizing online constituent transactions.
- Direct the sourcing of cost-effective data management tools and manage the deployment of new tools.
- Develop and deliver appropriate training for end-users of database and CRM applications.
- Manage vendors and related contracts and volunteer/in-kind services in support of cost-effective data management, CRM and IT infrastructure.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Marketing, Business Administration or equivalent experience.
- Hands-on experience with database applications and architecture.
- Demonstrated depth of understanding of internet based, data-driven marketing strategies.
- Keen strategic marketing insight to identify and position issues/programs to develop compelling campaigns resulting in deeper constituent interactions.
- Sharp analytic abilities to assess individual campaigns as well as success of overall web and direct mail programs and to identify new markets, segments and outreach tactics.
- Exceptional level of organizational skills and ability to juggle multiple tasks.
- Demonstrated success in problem solving and customer service.
- Successful experience with senior management and outside consultants to craft marketing and data management strategies and to implement strategies into effective operations and performance.
- Experience managing cross-functional, and geographically diverse teams.
- Demonstrated experience in a support role with coaching and training.
